Parent Information for Healdsburg Wonder League
Who is Eligible?
Children with special needs between the ages of 4 and 19. Wheelchairs and all other orthopedic devices are welcome and encouraged, as needed.
The cost for the season is $40. Some financial assistance is available.

About the Season
2013 Season Schedule
Games are played on Saturdays at 1:30PM and last about one and one-half hours. Please arrive fifteen minutes before game time.

Location
Healdsburg Community Center at Foss Creek School,
1557 Healdsburg Ave. Closing Game and ceremonies will be held at Healdsburg's Rec Park, located at 515 Piper Street.
We suggest you bring lawn chairs to the Foss Creek ball field, as there are no bleachers at this facility.
Once League Games Start
Parent Participation
At least one parent must be available at all times at each game. Parents are encouraged to cheer from the sidelines, but may accompany their child on the field if they feel it is in the best interest of their child.
The Games
The field’s dimensions match those of a regular, youth-size baseball field. Each child is given an opportunity to hit the ball and to score a run during each inning.
Wonder League team members are assigned buddies who assist them in hitting the ball and “running” the bases. Buddies can be anyone who wishes to volunteer their time to give a child the gift of baseball. They receive some training to provide basic rules of the game and on-field responsibilities.
Uniforms and Equipment
Uniforms—shirts and hats—are provided by the Wonder League. Team equipment, including bats, batting helmets and balls, are also provided by the Wonder League.
Participants are expected to bring their own gloves. Again, wheelchairs and all other orthopedic devices are welcome and encouraged.

Durante la Estación de Béisbol
Participación de Padre
Por lo menos un padre debe estar disponible siempre en cada juego. Los padres son animados a hacer porras desde las líneas del campo de beisbol, pero puede acompañar a su niño en el campo si se sienten que está en el mejor interés de su niño.
Los Juegos
Las dimensiones son iguales a las que se ven regularmente, y el tamaño es de un campo de béisbol de juventud. Cada niño es dado una oportunidad de golpear la pelota y ganar un corre durante cada entrada. Miembros del equipo de la Liga Maravilla son asignados a un compañero que los ayudara a golpear la pelota y correr las bases.
El compañero puede ser cualquier persona que desea ofrecerse su tiempo, y regalar el deseo de béisbol a un niño. EL compañero recibirá entrenamiento sobre reglas básicas y responsabilidades que se implementaran en el juego.
Los Uniformes y el Equipo
Las camisas y sombreros son proporcionados por la Liga de Maravilla. El equipo para el juego incluye bates, cascos y pelotas que también son proporcionados por la Liga de Maravilla.
Los participantes tienen que traer sus propios guantes. Por supuesto, las silla de ruedas y todos los otros dispositivos ortopédicos están bienvenidos y animados.
